Taste the distinction between two iconic appellations, each with its own sense of place and unique story.

You are invited to spend an evening led by Napa Cellars Winemaker, Joe Shirley comparing and contrasting Napa vs Sonoma wines.  The evening will consist of an educational tasting of ten different wines, five from Napa Cellars in Napa Valley and five from the Fole a Deux in Sonoma Valley. 

Napa Cellars embodies the classic Napa Valley style-ripe, rich, balanced, and collectible. Napa Cellars offers nine award winning varietals, each of them providing tremendous quality, value, and consistency vintage to vintage.

Folie a Deux has an incredible diversity that comes from its Sonoma Valley location.  Provided with the rare opportunity to work with grapes from an amazing collection of superior appellations - from cool, coastal regions to warm, rugged mountain sites and everything in between - allows the winemaker to craft a portfolio of sustainable wines that captures the full range and beautifully expressive characteristics of Sonoma's world-class wine districts.

Flying in for the evening is winemaker, Joe Shirley.  After graduating from the University of California with a Master of Science in Enology, Shirley launched his winemaking career at Sonoma-Cutrer in 1997. He joined Trinchero Family Estates in 1999 as enologist and worked his way up to winemaker from Trinchero Family Selection and Trinchero Napa Wines in 2002. In 2007, Shirley accepted the position as head winemaker for Napa Cellars. Beyond the artistic side of winemaking, he is also a leader in the technical aspects of his craft. His work on grape seed tannins was published in the American Journal of Enology and Viticulture.

Cost for this event is $65 plus tax and gratuity per person.
